Revive is a TU/e student team focused on greening urban environments through developing modular, affordable and self-sufficient green walls.
The goal of the team is to enhance biodiversity and combat the heat island effect common in cities across the world. I have joined the team inspired by sustainable lens, defined in my Personal Identity, as it was one of the few teams making sustainability a core value in team's mission and shaping its value proposition around it.
Initially, I have joined the Design and Promotion team focusing on raising awareness about the team through pitching, marketing, designing visual identity and even making merch. I’ve applied and expanded my skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma.
After one year in Promo Team, as my Vision grew, I decided to transfer to Plant Team, where I am currently doing research, to develop a carefully curated mix of seeds to be applied in our next prototype units.
The goal is to enhance biodiversity, by using native plants to the Netherlands, or even Eindhoven if possible; make sure that the unit stays green almost all year round through using a right combination of seasonal plants.
Additionally, while making the selection we have to make take into account the relations between the plants such as companionship planting and invasive species.
This extracurricular role allows me to apply and further develop my Competencies in real-life applicable scenarios, considering limited budget, deadlines and multidisciplinary group of students.
